About Councilman/Former Mayor Pro Tem 2009/2010 Daniel "Danny" Juarez
I am the only candidate with 24 years of experience in municipal government and education, coupled with 35 years of community service. I have served this community on the Wiseburn School Board for 8 years. I know how to work with parents, teachers and administrators at our local schools to foster better resources for our students. I spent 12 years as the City Clerk for Hawthorne before I was elected to my current position as councilman of Hawthorne. I know how this city is supposed to function and operate when it comes to voting on matters that make sense and is in the best interest for Hawthorne residents, and not just developers.
The City of Hawthorne is expected to face a multi-million dollar budget deficit this year. I have a Bachelor of Science and a MBA degree and an extensive background in handling financial challenges that combine to make me the right person, for the right reason, at the right time for mayor of Hawthorne.

Incorporated in 1922, the City of Hawthorne currently has a population of nearly 87,000 within a six square mile area. Temperatures in the area are always among the most pleasant in the Los Angeles basin.
